Due to the persistent rains, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao directed state Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy on Tuesday to proclaim a two-day holiday for all schools in the state. All schools have been declared closed on July 26 and 27.
Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has asked state education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy to announce two days of holiday for schools and institutions in the state due to the irregular weather conditions, according to a circular sent to the state education department.
Heavy rains has caused rivers in Uttarakhand and coastal areas such as Maharashtra to overflow in various places. Even though the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted significant rains for western and central India in the next days, several Gujarat towns such as Rajkot and Gir Somnath remained waterlogged.
